I was told that Reverse T3 and T3 Uptake were the same lab test. Is this true? Needing explanation please. Thanks!

These are actually two different things. Reverse T3 is a substance produced by the thyroid and in super oversimplified terms can be considered the Break Pedal where Free T3 is the Gas Pedal. T3 Uptake is an indirect measure of how much of your T3 is free and how much of it is bound. This value really doesn’t help much in my opinion.
