It’s getting hot outside!  At least here in Austin, Texas. Try this fresh treat for a break from the summer-time heat.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups watermelon
  • 1 1/2 cups sparkling water
  • juice from 1 lemon
  • mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Puree melon in blender or food processor. If you want to strain out the pulp, use a fine sieve and strain juice or use as is with the pulp.
  2. In your favorite summer-time pitcher, mix melon puree, sparkling water and lemon. 
  3. Pour into glasses and garnish with mint leaves.

There are so many food trucks here in Austin, and I have to say that I used to be a little envious of those who felt comfortable walking up to the window and ordering an agua fresca. Yet, I knew that they were filling their bodies with that toxic ingredient, sugar! So I present a delicious Agua Fresca The Myers Way®!

Instead of all that sugar, this drink is naturally sweetened with watermelon and mint leaves. It also has a fun, fizzy quality from the carbonated water. It’s delicious! Cool off this summer, with a cool drink that is great for your gut!
