My First Thrive Haul, Plus a Giveaway!
This summer I announced an exciting new partnership between myself and Thrive Market, a new online marketplace that brings you healthy foods and home goods with the quality of WholeFoods, the savings of Costco, and the convenience of Amazon.
This week I’ll tell you why I support Thrive Market, I’ll give you a behind-the-scenes look at what I received in my very first Thrive order, and I’ll share a fantastic opportunity to get your first month of Thrive Market for free, PLUS a free gift!
Why I Support Thrive Market
Thrive Market is on a mission to make healthy living easy and affordable for everyone. For less than $5 a month, Thrive Market members have access to the world’s best healthy foods and wholesome products for 25 – 50% below retail prices, delivered straight to their door!
As someone who cares deeply about buying food and home products that are good for your health and the earth, I fully support this company and have teamed up with them as an investor and partner. Here’s why I support them, and why I hope you will too!
Shop by Values
Thrive allows you to shop by values, including paleo, gluten-free, certified organic, GMO-free, certified fair trade, and more. This feature makes it easier than ever to follow The Myers Way® programs, and removes the stress of wondering if inflammatory foods such as gluten, high-fructose corn syrup, or soy are hiding in your foods. Simply check off which values you would like to filter by, and then choose from only the foods that match your dietary needs.
This model not only impacts your pantry, it impacts the broader food economy. We vote with our dollars just as much as our ballots, and supporting companies that share your values helps build a healthier and more sustainable food system for everyone.
Thrive offers the same great products as Whole Foods and your other favorite organic grocers, but their membership model allows them to sell these items 25-50% cheaper! And, unlike Costco or Sam’s Club, you don’t have to buy in bulk to get these great prices. Plus, you get free shipping for all orders over $49!
Finding time to make it to the grocery store can be tough, if not impossible some weeks, and there are certain go-to snacks and staples that I like to keep on hand at all times. By ordering online, I can stock up once every few months (and take advantage of the free shipping!) so that I’m not rushing out to the store on Sunday night.
Spread the Good
Expanding access to healthy living isn’t just Thrive’s business model – it’s their mission. That’s why they’ve committed to giving a free membership to a low-income family for every paid member who joins Thrive.
I support Thrive because I believe everyone should be able to buy wholesome products that are good for your health and good for the earth. I also believe in vetting every product and resource before I endorse it, so that I can be fully confident that what I recommend to you is both helpful and a good value. That’s why I test drove the service first. Here’s a look at what I ordered, and my honest feedback on the Thrive shopping experience!
My First Thrive Haul
For my first order I chose to try out a few new products, as well as order some of my old favorites. I purchased food items, beauty products, and home goods, so I ended up with quite a variety of products.
It was fun browsing through their products, turning on and off different value filters to find products that were a perfect fit for me and my husband. I will say that I found the selection in a few categories to be a bit limited, but I was happy to see so many of my favorite brands included (such as Epic, Primal, and Pure 7), and to discover several new products to spice up my list of old standbys. I can be just as guilty as anyone of getting stuck in a rut and eating the same few snacks over and over again, so it was nice to introduce a few new options into my routine.
Best of all, my total for everything in this huge box was less than $100! I did a side-by-side price comparison for the products I routinely buy at health food stores, and every single one was 25-50% cheaper from Thrive, as promised.
Here are a few of mine and my husband Xavier’s favorite picks from our first order!
Jackson’s Honest Sweet Potato Chips – These chips are a great mix of sweet and salty and, unlike almost every other brand of sweet potato chips, they are made with coconut oil, so they are approved for all of The Myers Way® protocols.
Epic Bison Chia Bites – I am a big fan of Epic’s products, and these bison chia bites are no exception. They are made with bison, uncured bacon (so no artificial nitrates), golden raisins, and chia seeds, making for a great balanced flavor.
Woodstock Organic Dark Chocolate Almonds – I’m not currently eating nuts, but Xavier selected these, and assures me that they are absolutely delicious. They are made with cane sugar (so no GMO sugar beets) and are 100% certified USDA organic, making them a great treat for those who can tolerate nuts and are looking for an occasional indulgence.
Cultures for Health Water Kefir Grains – I was very excited to try this dairy-free alternative to milk kefir! Since giving up dairy, I have missed having kefir. This starter culture produces a new batch of kefir every 24-48 hours using simply water! You can use coconut water or fruit juice if you prefer, though, I am excited to just try it with water.
