Prep Time

30 minutes

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 4 pieces nitrate-free bacon turkey or pork
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/2 white onion
  • Pinch sea salt
  • Pinch ground pepper
  • 1/4 cup sweet potato shredded
  • 1 Tbsp coconut oil
  • 4 rings pineapple
  • 3 Tbsp nightshade free cherry bbq sauce optional
  • 1 avocado optional

  1. Preheat oven to broil.
  2. In a large frying pan, cook bacon until crispy then transfer to a paper towel and pat dry. Once the bacon is cool, chop into pieces and set aside.
  3. Combine ground turkey, garlic, onion, sweet potato, chopped bacon, bbq sauce, salt and pepper in a medium bowl and mix until it is evenly combined.
  4. Separate the turkey mix into 4 patties, about ½ inch to 1 inch thick.
  5. To cook, place the patties on a cookie sheet and broil for 5-7 minutes on each side.
  6. While the burgers are cooking, broil the pineapple on a cookie sheet (or grill) for 3 minutes on each side.
  7. Remove burgers and pineapple from oven. Place burger patties on lettuce wrap and top with avocado and pineapple.

You can also grill the patties for 5-7 minutes on each side in a charcoal grill or stove top. For extra flavor, grill the pineapple for 3 minutes on each side before adding to your burger!
