Cauliflower is a staple for most of us on the Autoimmune Protocol. It was time for some variety in my cauliflower recipes! This basic soup is simple, but delicious.

Cardamom Spiced Cauliflower Soup




  • 1 Tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 1/2 sweet onion roughly choppped
  • 1 inch ginger peeled and minced
  • 3 cloves garlic peeled and minced
  • 3 heads cauliflower washed and broken into florets
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 Tbsp ground black pepper
  • 4 cups bone broth


  1. Heat coconut oil in large soup pot over medium heat. Add sweet onion and let cook for 2-3 minutes.
  2. Add ginger and garlic and let cook for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Add cauliflower florets, cardamom, ground ginger, thyme, salt and ground black pepper. Cook for about 10 minutes, stirring often.
  4. Add bone broth. Bring to a boil then simmer covered for about 35 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and carefully blend with an immersion blender or in batches in a standing blender.
