This homemade multi berry cereal is a delicious and nutrient-rich treat that makes a great breakfast, snack, or even a healthy dessert. In this recipe, freeze-dried strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries are mixed with Tiger nuts and fresh coconut for a refreshing cereal with a delicious crunch.

Since these ingredients have such a long shelf life, this multi berry cereal can be prepared in advance for a quick breakfast or snack on-the-go. This cereal is a great way to support your body with healthy, sweet, and delicious ingredients.

Berries

Berries are one of the healthiest fruits available. They’re full of antioxidants including anthocyanins, ellagic acid, and resveratrol thanks to their rich color. These antioxidants help protect your body from oxidative damage, protect your cells, and may even reduce the risk of developing certain diseases. Berries are low in sugar compared to other fruits, and they provide an exceptional amount of fiber to help with digestion and keep you full.

While freeze-drying removes all of the water from the fruit, it certainly doesn’t remove the flavor. These berries are crisp and tasty, and maintain up to 90% of their original nutritional content. One small serving of the berries in this cereal is all you need to get your daily dose of vitamins A and C, potassium, antioxidants, and fiber.

Tiger nut

You might be thinking, “Wait. A nut? That’s not AIP!” You’re right. Nuts such as almonds, cashews, and hazelnuts are not autoimmune diet approved, nor are they included in the 30-day protocol of The Myers Way®. Despite this, Tiger nuts are a great addition to your diet because they’re not really nuts! Tiger nuts are a tuber that grows below the ground, however, they resemble a nut in size, shape, and flavor. Tiger nuts are gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, Paleo, and are a fantastic tool for maintaining a healthy weight.

Tiger nuts are small, however one serving packs in A LOT of nutrients. They’re a great energy booster, have a ton of protein and fiber, and can help improve digestion, reduce blood sugar levels, and give your immune system a boost. What more could you ask for first thing in the morning?
