Hawaiian BBQ Turkey & Bacon Burger

Ingredients
- 1 lb 454.00 g ground turkey
- 4 slices nitrate-free bacon turkey or pork
- 1 cloves garlic
- 1/2 white onion
- 1/2 tsp 2.46 ml sea salt
- 1/2 tsp 2.46 ml ground black pepper
- 1 sweet potato shredded into approximately 1/4 cup
- 1 Tbsp 14.79 ml coconut oil
- 1 cup 240.00 ml pineapple cut into 4 rings
- 3 Tbsp 44.36 ml nightshade free cherry bbq sauce optional
- 1 avocado optional
Instructions
- Preheat oven to broil.
- In a large frying pan, cook bacon until crispy then transfer to a paper towel and pat dry. Once the bacon is cool, chop into pieces and set aside.
- Combine ground turkey, garlic, onion, sweet potato, chopped bacon, bbq sauce, salt and pepper in a medium bowl and mix until it is evenly combined.
- Separate the turkey mix into 4 patties, about ½ inch to 1 inch thick.
- To cook, place the patties on a cookie sheet and broil for 5-7 minutes on each side.
- While the burgers are cooking, broil the pineapple on a cookie sheet (or grill) for 3 minutes on each side.
- Remove burgers and pineapple from oven. Place burger patties on lettuce wrap and top with avocado and pineapple.
